Tonight: Everyone is invited to join us this evening at 7:00pm for a time of prayer.

Jail Ministry: There will be a Jail Orientation meeting tomorrow night at 6:00pm at the El Dorado County Jail. Current volunteers who have not been to an orientation within the past two years are required to attend. Those interested in joining this vital ministry are also asked to attend.

Jr/Sr High: All Jr/Sr High students are invited to the Friday Night Connect this Friday at 6:00pm. For all the details please go to the Youth Website at www.john146.org.

Board: The Board Meeting for this month will be Tuesday, Jan 17th at 7:00pm.

Ladies: Thursday, Jan 19th we will begin two new Bible Studies. The Morning class at 9:45am will be studying the books of Jonah and 1 Peter. The cost is $5.00 and childcare is available. The evening study at 6:30pm is entitled “Ecclesiastes: Chasing After Meaning”. The cost is $8.00. Sorry, there is no childcare. Please sign up at the Information Table, and come and join us. Attention Sr High Students: The 2012 High School Winter Camp is Feb 3rd -  5th. The theme is ACTIVATE. The time has come for our lives to be awakened according to Romans 13:11 “because there is no time to be found sleeping in our faith!” The guest speaker is Don Stewart from Pastor’s Perspective Radio show and special musical guest will be Jimmy Robeson. The cost for the weekend is $129.00, and the deadline to sign up is Wednesday, Jan 18th. Questions? Please contact Pastor Edde.

Breakfast: All men are invited to our Men’s Breakfast Saturday, Feb 4th at 8:00am. The guest speaker is Pastor Jeff Jones of CC Forest Hill. It’s a great time of good food and fellowship with brothers in Christ. The cost is $6.00. Please sign up at the Information Table if you plan to attend, so we know how much food to prepare.

Conference: Flyers are now on the Information Table for the High Sierra Pastors’ and Leaders’ Conference at Zephyr Point, Mar 26th – 28th. Featured speakers are Rich Chaffin of CC Laguna Creek, Jack Abeelen of Morningstar Christian Chapel and David Rosales of CC Chino Valley. Registration is done individually by mail. This conference can fill quickly, so don’t delay.

Petitions: We are collecting signatures for a ballot initiative for a Constitutional Definition of a Person, which defines “person” as including all living human beings from the beginning of their biological development as human organisms. If you would like to read/sign the petition, you may do so in the kitchen this morning.

Cleaning Ministry: Our Cleaning Ministry is in need of volunteers to help clean the Church on Tuesdays or Fridays, once or twice a month. If you are interested in joining this important behind-the-scenes ministry, a sign up sheet is on the Information Table.

Kid’s Clothes Closet: Our Closet is in need of girls and boys winter clothing, sizes 2T – youth 16. Donations can be placed in the closet under the stairwell in the Foyer during regular Office hours. If you have a heart to serve in this vital ministry as a volunteer, please call the Church Office.

Teaching Opportunities: Do you love children and the Word of God? Children’s Ministry needs you! Teachers and helpers are needed for Wednesday evening Services.Training and curriculum are provided. If you are interested, please see Pastor Dan or Pam, or call the Church Office. You will be blessed!

Found: Our Lost and Found is once again overflowing with items waiting to be claimed by their owners. Please check the Kitchen today for any items you may be missing.

Donation Tax Receipts: If you would like a receipt for your 2011 giving, please fill out a request form located on the Information Table and place it in the Tithe Box. Your receipt will be mailed to you.

Coffee: You can help support missions in Costa Rica AND enjoy delicious coffee at the aame time! Costa Rican coffee is available in the Foyer from our youth this morning for a donation of $15.00 a bag. A portion of that may be tax deductable; please call the Office for more information.

Announcements for March 6, 2011

Directory: It’s time to compile a new Church Directory and we need you! Today and next Sunday we will be taking sign ups and photos after both Services in the Foyer. Plan for your family to have your picture taken one of these days or this Wednesday night between 6:00 – 6:45pm. Helpful hint: please avoid wearing white or black, for the best photographic image. Thanks!

Business: Our annual Church Business Meeting is today at 12:30pm in the Sanctuary. All are welcome to attend.

Spring Forward: Daylight Saving Time begins next Sunday at 2:00am, so remember to set your clocks forward one hour this Saturday night!

CM Potluck: Children’s Ministry teachers, subs, helpers, worship team, and your families, please join us for a Potluck Lunch, next Sunday after second Service.  This will be a time of fellowship, prayer and food!!  A sign up sheet and fliers are on the Information Table.  Please come and be blessed!!

Webcast: Saturday, Mar 26th is the “Rediscover God in America” webcast. Speakers include Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich and David Barton. This takes place here from 9:00am – 3:00pm, with a lunch break on your own. There is no cost. Come and be reminded of this country’s Biblical roots, and catch the vision to bring God back to the center of American life. Fliers are on the Information Table. Invite your friends!

Women: We’re having a Women’s “Mini” Retreat Friday Apr 8th – Sunday Apr 10th and the theme is “Praising the Lord For His Love and Faithfulness”. It will again be at one of our sister’s spacious home, and the cost is only $10.00 per person. Registration brochures are on the Information Table. Space is limited, so pick one up today and join us for a great time of fellowship and renewal.

Family Camp: Family Camp is at Lake Francis, June 3rd – 5th! This is a great time of fun and fellowship at a great location. Tent and RV sites are available as well as cabins, which are reserved on first-signed up basis. Fliers and registration sheets are on the Information Table. Some cabins are still available, but if you are interested in a cabin it is suggested you sign up today. It’s gonna be fun!

Coming Soon: Mark your calendars for the Couple’s Retreat at Zephyr Point in Lake Tahoe, July 29th – 31st.  More details will follow in April.

Meals Ministry: God’s instructs us in His Word to reach out to those in need so that others may know CHRIST through the love we show.  Do you feel a pull at your heart when someone suffers and want to serve them in a tangible way?  If so, the Meals Ministry might be for you.  We are in need of additional volunteers to provide meals, on an occasional basis, to those facing sudden hardships.  Please contact the church Office for more information or to be added to the team.  Recipes and meal suggestions can be provided upon request.  God bless you as you serve our Lord with the gifts He has given you!

Scripture Readers: Children’s Ministry is updating our Scripture Reader List. If your child would like to read a Scripture on Sunday mornings, please sign up at the Information Table and you will be contacted.

U Turn Thrift Store: The U Turn For Christ Thrift Store in Camino is in need of donations. You can call them at 647-1004, or bring items to them at 5649 Pony Express Trail, Camino, during normal business hours.
