Announcements for April 18, 2010
Meeting: There will be a meeting for all Jr. High teachers today at 12:30pm, in the High School Room. Please plan to attend.
Offices: Tuesday our Offices will open at 10:00am, due to a Staff Meeting.
Help Needed: The Kid’s Closet Swap is this Wednesday, April 21st, from 9:00am till Noon, in the Church Nursery. We need help cleaning out all of the winter items and stocking up for summer. Snacks will be provided. Please call Laura at 642-9472 for more information. Many hands make light work!
Change: The CM Family Skating Day scheduled for April 24th (as posted on the Church calendar) has been postponed to a later date.
Financial Workshops: This Saturday, April 24th from 9:00 – 10:30am, Kevin Wright will be doing the third in a series of monthly workshops for any who would like help with such things as budgeting, credit card debt, savings, investments, etc. Kevin’s heart is to offer assistance, using practical skills with a Biblical perspective. The workshops are free, and there will be no solicitation. Please sign up at the Information Table if you’d like to attend.
Children’s’ Ministry: All CM teachers, aides, preschool, and nursery servants, are requested to attend a CM servants training and fellowship workshop here next Sunday Apr 25th at 12:15pm. Very important information will be shared for all grade levels, and lunch will first be provided in the High School room. All involved with CM please plan to be here.
Worship: Plan to join us next Sunday night at 7:00pm for a great time of praise and worship! Nursery and toddler care will be provided.
Men: Saturday, May 1st, from 9:00am – 3:30pm, is the Northern California Calvary Chapel Men’s Conference at CC Modesto. Speakers include Gayle Erwin and Mike Macintosh. We plan to take down the bus, so please sign up at the Information Table so we know how many to expect. This will be a great Conference you won’t want to miss!
Gardening: The Firstfruits Garden will be starting up on Wednesday, May 5th, from 9:30 – 11:00am (weather permitting). Adults and children 6 and up are welcome to join us. Please wear gardening attire and gloves. For more information please call Kris Thayer at 622-2620.
Prayer: Thursday, May 6th, is the National Day of Prayer. Plan to join us at the local gathering at Cold Springs Community Church, starting at 7:00am.
Banquet: All are welcome at the Folsom Prison Gospel Outreach Benefit Banquet on Saturday, May 8th at 6 pm. The banquet will be at the Firefighters Hall in Diamond Springs, and features tri-tip with all the fixins, silent auction, raffle, special speaker, etc. All proceeds will help bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to inmates at three local prisons this summer. Tickets are on sale at the table in the Lobby today, $15.00 per person or $28.00 per couple, or contact Randy Haskins 502-480-7419. Thanks for your support!
Family Camp: Family Camp at Lake Francis is coming June 4th – 6th! Pick up a flyer at the Information Table and read it to see your various options, then fill out your information on the sign up sheet. Statements are in the process of being mailed out. Please call the Office with questions and for important information regarding reserving additional days.

New Study: The Men’s Monday Night Bible Study is starting a new study in the book of John tomorrow night at 7:00pm. All men are encouraged to come on out!
Board: The monthly Board Meeting is this Tuesday at 7:00pm.
Mother’s Prayer Meeting: All women with mother’s hearts are invited to a Prayer Meeting this Wednesday, from 5:50 to 7:00pm upstairs in Room 6. We will intercede for our children, families, schools and more.
Offices: Our Offices will be closed this Friday from 12:30-3:00pm for a Staff meeting.
Special: Next Sunday at both Services we are pleased to welcome Rose Martinez of Christian Happy Home orphanage. Rose will be sharing with us the good things the Lord is doing there. Don’t miss this – you’ll be blessed!
Thanksgiving: Mark your calendars and plan to join us at our Thanksgiving Praise and Worship Night, Wednesday, Nov 25th at 7:00pm. This is a wonderful time to celebrate and thank God for Who He is and all He’s done! Childcare is available.
Mexico: There will be a Mexico Orientation Meeting Sunday, Nov 29th from 1:00-3:00pm in the Sanctuary. This is a mandatory meeting for all those interested in going on the spring Mexico Mission Trip. For more information see Edde Anderson.
There’s Still Room: This year’s Christmas Program still has openings for choir singers. Please consider sharing your time and talents in this way. For more information, stop by the table in the Foyer or contact Pam Logan or Bev Carter. Come celebrate Jesus!
Christmas: In December the Food Closet will once again be giving away Christmas Stockings/Bags to families in need. They will include various goodies and a devotional CD and message. If you would like to sponsor one or more bags/stockings, at a cost of $12.00 each, please sign up at the Information Table.
Visual Team: Do you want to serve here in the Body, but prefer something “behind the scenes”? Consider being a Projectionist. We will provide the training, and you will be performing a much-needed service. If you would like to help please sign up at the Information Table and you will be contacted.
Sunday Mornings: If you have a heart to serve in the Children’s Ministry, we welcome you! There are openings in the Preschool and 6th grade classes. You’ll be given all the information and curriculum needed. Live scan clearances are required. Please see Pam Logan or Pastor Dan for more information.
Wednesday Evenings: Children’s Ministry is in need of helpers to oversee children during the midweek service from 7:00-8:30pm, typically every other week. Please prayerfully consider serving, and contact the Office for more information.
Israel: Pastor Nick will be leading a tour to the Holy Land, May 1st – 12th, 2010. Flyers, with details and registration form, are on the Information Table. Join us!
Firewood: If you are a single woman or an elderly person in need of firewood, please sign up, indicating how much wood you will need, and someone will contact you. If you would like more information, please call the Church Office.
Need: Our Kid’s Clothes Closet is in need of winter clothing donations sizes 3T-7. We are also collecting new/used Christian children’s CDs for Christmas bags. Donations can be dropped off at the Church Tuesdays-Fridays during normal Office hours.
Winter Needs: We are collecting clean, used, adult-sized coats for the community homeless, as well as tarps (in good and clean condition), any size, color, or material. Please place your donations in the large box in the Foyer.
