Jail Ministry: There will be a Jail Orientation meeting tomorrow night at 6:00pm at the El Dorado County Jail. Current volunteers who have not been to an orientation within the past two years are required to attend. Those interested in joining this vital ministry are also asked to attend.
Jr/Sr High: All Jr/Sr High students are invited to the Friday Night Connect this Friday at 6:00pm. For all the details please go to the Youth Website at www.john146.org.
Board: The Board Meeting for this month will be Tuesday, Jan 17th at 7:00pm.
Ladies: Thursday, Jan 19th we will begin two new Bible Studies. The Morning class at 9:45am will be studying the books of Jonah and 1 Peter. The cost is $5.00 and childcare is available. The evening study at 6:30pm is entitled “Ecclesiastes: Chasing After Meaning”. The cost is $8.00. Sorry, there is no childcare. Please sign up at the Information Table, and come and join us. Attention Sr High Students: The 2012 High School Winter Camp is Feb 3rd - 5th. The theme is ACTIVATE. The time has come for our lives to be awakened according to Romans 13:11 “because there is no time to be found sleeping in our faith!” The guest speaker is Don Stewart from Pastor’s Perspective Radio show and special musical guest will be Jimmy Robeson. The cost for the weekend is $129.00, and the deadline to sign up is Wednesday, Jan 18th. Questions? Please contact Pastor Edde.
Breakfast: All men are invited to our Men’s Breakfast Saturday, Feb 4th at 8:00am. The guest speaker is Pastor Jeff Jones of CC Forest Hill. It’s a great time of good food and fellowship with brothers in Christ. The cost is $6.00. Please sign up at the Information Table if you plan to attend, so we know how much food to prepare.
Conference: Flyers are now on the Information Table for the High Sierra Pastors’ and Leaders’ Conference at Zephyr Point, Mar 26th – 28th. Featured speakers are Rich Chaffin of CC Laguna Creek, Jack Abeelen of Morningstar Christian Chapel and David Rosales of CC Chino Valley. Registration is done individually by mail. This conference can fill quickly, so don’t delay.
Petitions: We are collecting signatures for a ballot initiative for a Constitutional Definition of a Person, which defines “person” as including all living human beings from the beginning of their biological development as human organisms. If you would like to read/sign the petition, you may do so in the kitchen this morning.
Cleaning Ministry: Our Cleaning Ministry is in need of volunteers to help clean the Church on Tuesdays or Fridays, once or twice a month. If you are interested in joining this important behind-the-scenes ministry, a sign up sheet is on the Information Table.
Kid’s Clothes Closet: Our Closet is in need of girls and boys winter clothing, sizes 2T – youth 16. Donations can be placed in the closet under the stairwell in the Foyer during regular Office hours. If you have a heart to serve in this vital ministry as a volunteer, please call the Church Office.
Teaching Opportunities: Do you love children and the Word of God? Children’s Ministry needs you! Teachers and helpers are needed for Wednesday evening Services.Training and curriculum are provided. If you are interested, please see Pastor Dan or Pam, or call the Church Office. You will be blessed!
Found: Our Lost and Found is once again overflowing with items waiting to be claimed by their owners. Please check the Kitchen today for any items you may be missing.
Donation Tax Receipts: If you would like a receipt for your 2011 giving, please fill out a request form located on the Information Table and place it in the Tithe Box. Your receipt will be mailed to you.
Coffee: You can help support missions in Costa Rica AND enjoy delicious coffee at the aame time! Costa Rican coffee is available in the Foyer from our youth this morning for a donation of $15.00 a bag. A portion of that may be tax deductable; please call the Office for more information.

Conference: All men are encouraged to attend a free Video Conference “Living in the Last Days”, this Saturday from 9:00am – 3:00pm, here at Calvary. Lunch is available for $6.00, payable at the door. The deadline to sign up is today, so if you’re planning on attending, please sign up at the Information Table.
Jr/Sr High Students: Youth Worship Class begins this Wednesday at 4:00pm. If you are interested, please pick up an application (with all details) at the Information Table and return the completed form, along with $10.00, to Pastor Edde today.
Ladies: A new study begins this Thursday in the Book of Joshua. The morning class will begin at 9:45am (childcare provided). The evening class starts at 6:30pm (sorry, no childcare). The cost is $5.00. Please sign up at the Information Table today.
Worship: Join us next Sunday evening at 7:00pm for a great time of Worship and Praise, outside on the lawn, weather permitting.. Nursery and Toddler care is available. Bring the family and come on out!
Pure Life: Registration forms and flyers are available at the Information Table for A Call to Purity Weekend, presented here Friday, Sept 9th from 7:00 – 9:00pm, and Saturday, Sept 10th from 8:30am – 12:30pm. Men, women, and high school students are encouraged to attend. Registration forms and payment can be placed in the Tithe Box, noting “Call to Purity”.

The theme is 1 Chronicles 22:19, “Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God.” The cost is $110.00 (cost of the T-Shirt is extra). Garden Ministry: The Firstfruits Garden is in need of volunteers to oversee this important ministry. We also need volunteers to come on Wednesday mornings to help with weeding and maintenance.
Life: The Sacramento 40 Days For Life is Sept 26th through Nov 6th, at the abortion clinic on Wright Street. This is a peaceful, prayerful vigil, to help women choose LIFE. For more information, please contact the Office.
Stop SB48: Gov. Brown recently signed SB48 into law, which requires Ca. text books to include a study of the role and contributions of “…lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans…” Stop SB48 is collecting signatures to overturn this. Petitions are available in the Kitchen this morning, if you’d like to sign one.
