Office: Our Offices will be closed this Tuesday in observance of Presidents’ Day.
Folsom Prison/New Beginnings: It’s all about discipleship! We will be having our first orientation meeting here this Thursday at 6:30pm, and the opportunities to minister to the lost at Folsom Prison are many. Please come and see what our Father is doing in the lives of these men.
Business Meeting: The Annual All-church Business Meeting will be next Sunday at 12:30pm. All are welcome!
Bowling: Children’s Ministry has planned a Family Bowling Day at Knotty Pines Lanes in Pollock Pines on Saturday, Mar 10th from 10:00am – 1:00pm. Please pick up a flyer and sign up at the Information Table. It’s great fun for the whole family!
CM Dinner: All Children’s Ministry servants are invited to an Appreciation Dinner Friday, Mar 16th at 6:00pm. We will worship, eat and pray together! Flyers and a sign up sheet are on the Information Table. Childcare is provided. Let us bless you!
Conference: Flyers are on the Information Table for the High Sierra Pastors’ and Leaders’ Conference at Zephyr Point, Mar 26th – 28th. Featured speakers are Rich Chaffin of CC Laguna Creek, Jack Abeelen of Morningstar Christian Chapel and David Rosales of CC Chino Valley. Registration is done individually by mail, and the deadline to register is March 5th.
Fellowship Dinners: We are going to be doing the Fellowship Dinners again, and we are now taking sign ups for host homes, cooks and helpers. If you would like to serve in one of these areas, please see John Seman in the Foyer this morning.
Life: Sacramento’s Spring 40 Days For Life is Feb 22nd through April 1st, in front of the abortion clinic at 1750 Wright Street. This is a peaceful, prayerful vigil, to help women choose LIFE. Family Camp: Family Camp at Lake Francis is, June 1st – 3rd. Information will be available and sign ups will begin March 4th. Be sure to save these dates now!
Coming Soon: Mark your calendars for the Married Couple’s Retreat at Lake Tahoe, July 27th – 29th! More details to come in April.
Children Are A Blessing: Our children are so precious to us and to the Lord, and worthy of our careful Bible instruction. Helpers are needed in our Children’s Ministry particularly during Wednesday NightServices for Bible instruction, games, and other activities. If you can help please call the Church Office at 626-8484 or see Pastor Dan or Pam. Security clearances will be required.
Get Connected: All Jr/Sr High Students, if you would like to receive up-to-date Youth Ministry information via email, please sign up at the Information Table and you will be added to our list. You can also find us on Facebook at Calvary Chapel Placerville Youth Ministry.
Petitions: We are collecting signatures for 2 ballot initiatives: 1) Constitutional Definition of a Person, which defines “person” as including all living human beings from the beginning of their biological development as human organisms. 2) Parental Notification will put an initiative on the ballot which will require a doctor to notify a parent 48 hours prior to an abortion on their minor daughter under age 18. If you would like to read/sign the petitions, you may do so in the kitchen this morning.
Coffee: You can help support missions in Costa Rica AND enjoy delicious coffee at the same time! Costa Rican coffee is available in the Foyer from our youth this morning for a donation of $15.00 a bag. A portion of that may be tax deductable; please call the Office for more information.
Donation Tax Receipts: If you would like a receipt for your 2011 giving, please fill out a request form located on the Information Table and place it in the Tithe Box. Your receipt will be mailed to you.

Study Cancelled: The Men’s Bible Study is cancelled tomorrow night due to the holiday. See you next week!

Jail Ministry: There will be a Jail Ministry Meeting this Tuesday at 6:30pm. All current volunteers, and those interested in this important ministry, are urged to attend.
Pure Life: It’s not too late to register for “A Call To Purity Weekend”, presented here this Friday and Saturday. Friday evening starts at 7:00pm, but you can arrive anytime after 6:15pm to check in and get a good seat. The Saturday session starts at 8:30am, and should finish around 1:00pm. Men, women, and high school students are encouraged to attend. Flyers and registration forms are on the Information Table. Please place your completed form and payment in the Tithe Box today.
BBQ: Bring the whole family to a Barbecue and Movie Night, here at the Church on Friday, Sept 16th at 6:30pm out on the lawn! Barbecue hamburgers and hot dogs, and beverages will be provided, and you bring a potluck dish to share. It’s very important that you sign up if you plan to attend, as we need to get an accurate headcount for the burgers and hot dogs we need to prepare. Sign up sheets are on the Information Table. And remember to bring folding chairs or blankets to sit on. See you there!
Back-to-School: Following second Service on Sunday, Sept 18th, the Calvary Kid’s Clothes Closet will be offering our Fall/Winter children’s clothing out in the parking lot (weather permitting). Please stop by for your back-to-school needs. Donations of children’s clothing and accessories (shoes, socks, hats, gloves, backpacks, etc) can also be dropped off that day. We are so thankful for the blessing of being able to serve the Body in this way!
Orientation: There will be a Jail Orientation meeting Monday, Sept 19th at 6:00pm at the El Dorado County Jail. Current volunteers who have not been to an orientation within the past two years are required to attend. Those interested in joining this vital ministry are also asked to attend.
Shalom!: Please join us Sunday, Sept 25th as we welcome special guest speaker David Brickner of Jews For Jesus. He will be presenting “Christ in the Feast of Tabernacles” at both morning Services. Invite your family and friends and come hear all of the exciting things that God is doing today in bringing Jews to Jesus.
Men: The Northern California Men’s Retreat at Woodleaf is Oct 7th – 9th. The theme is 1 Chronicles 22:19, “Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God.” The cost is $110.00 (T-Shirt is extra). Please sign up at the Information Table if you wish to attend. Registration brochures will soon be available. This is a great time of fellowship with the Lord and your brothers in Christ!
Garden Ministry: The Firstfruits Garden is in need of volunteers to oversee this important ministry. We also need volunteers to come on Wednesday mornings to help with weeding and maintenance. If interested, please contact Kris at kristhayer@att.net. Thank you Kris for all your hard work!

Stop SB48: Gov. Brown recently signed SB48 into law, which requires Ca. text books to include a study of the role and contributions of “…lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans…” Stop SB48 is collecting signatures to overturn this. Petitions are available this morning, if you’d like to sign one.
Found: Our Lost and Found is again overflowing with items waiting to be claimed by their owners. Please check the Kitchen today for any items that you may be missing. All unclaimed items will be donated this week.
