Announcements for October 18th, 2009

Christmas Drama: This year we will be doing a Christmas play, with parts for children as well as adults. For all who are interested in being a part of our program, there will be a brief meeting today following second Service in Room 4.  If you have any questions, please see Pam Logan or Bev Carter.

Israel: Pastor Nick will be leading a tour to the Holy Land, May 1st – 12th, 2010. There will be an Orientation Meeting tonight at 7:00pm for all going, and all wanting information. Come on out and learn more about this exciting trip.

Early Birds: Beginning this Tuesday at 5:00am, there will be a new Men’s Bible Study at Denny’s in Cameron Park, studying the Book of Galatians.

Worship: Join us next Sunday evening at 7:00pm for a great time of Worship and Praise. Nursery and Toddler care is available. Bring the family and come on out!

Attention Youth!!: Friday, Oct 30th, Jr and Sr High will be going to Sky High and Granite Arches. The cost will be $15.00 for Sky High and/or $21.00 for the Granite Arches, which includes dinner. A sign up sheet is on the Information Table, or you can sign up online at john146.org/events.  Don’t miss it!

Military: Each year the Indian Rock Tree Farm sends Christmas trees, cards and gifts to military personnel deployed outside the country. If you know of anyone they can include please call them at 622-4087 by October 30th.

Harvest Night: Our annual Harvest Night Outreach at the El Dorado County fairgrounds is Saturday, Oct 31st from 5:30-8:30pm. Many hands and helpers are needed, so if you can help, or have questions, please stop by the table in the Foyer this morning. Our candy needs have been fully supplied, but we need donations of cupcakes for the Cupcake Decorating Booth. If you can help, please bring unfrosted cupcakes to the Church the week of Oct 25th-31st. Thank you!

Women’s Ministry: If you’d like to be a part of Women’s Ministries, or just want more information, please join us at our meeting Monday, Nov 2nd at 6:30pm in the Church Office. All ladies are invited. Come see how the Lord would like to use you for His glory!

Jail: For all who serve in the Jail Ministry, and those interested, the next Jail Ministry Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov 3rd. They will meet in the High School Room at 6:00pm.

Special: On Sunday, Nov 8th we are happy to welcome back Dr. Thomas Kindell of Reasons for Faith Ministries. He will be presenting “The Case For Creation” at 8:30/10:30am Services, speaking on “Design in Nature—The Birds”, and at 7:00pm, “Is There A Monkey in Your Family Tree?” Bring out the whole family, and invite a friend!

Ladies: Please join us Saturday, Nov 14th from 9:00-11:00am for a special Worship Prayer Meeting. This will be a time of praise and intercessory prayer as we join with our sisters in Christ and bring needs before the Lord. For more information, please contact the Church Office.

Christmas: In December the Food Closet will once again be giving away Christmas Stockings/Bags to families in need. They will include various goodies and a devotional CD and message. If you would like to sponsor one or more bags/stockings, at a cost of $12.00 each, please sign up at the Information Table.

Visual Team: Do you want to serve here in the Body, but prefer something “behind the scenes”? Consider being a Projectionist. We will provide the training, and you will be performing a much-needed service. If you would like to help please sign up at the Information Table and you will be contacted.

Sunday Mornings: If you have a heart to serve in the Children’s Ministry, we welcome you! There are openings in the Preschool and 6th grade classes. You’ll be given all the information and curriculum needed.  Live scan clearances are required. Please see Pam Logan or Pastor Dan for more information.

Wednesday Evenings: Children’s Ministry is in need of helpers to oversee children during the midweek service from 7:00-8:30pm, typically every other week. Please prayerfully consider serving, and contact the Office for more information.

Winter Needs: Cold weather will soon be upon us. We are collecting clean, used, adult-sized coats for the community homeless. Please place your donations in the large box in the Foyer.  Also any spare tarps (in good and clean condition) you may have, any size, color, or material, would be greatly appreciated. Prayer: Do you have a prayer request? Please fill out a green form, located on the tables in the Foyer, and place it in the Prayer Request Box on the wall above the Information Table. They will be prayed for on Fridays by the Men’s Prayer group, who will diligently lift up your needs before the Lord. For an immediate need, please call the Prayer Chain at 626-8484 weekdays or 626-7183 weekends. All men are welcome to join us for prayer every Friday at 6:30am

Women’s Ministry: The WM Meeting has been rescheduled for tomorrow night at 6:30pm in the Church Office. If you are looking for a place to serve in the Body, or you want to know your sisters in Christ in a deeper way, please come join us! We would love to have your input.

Men: The Monday Night Men’s Bible Study is cancelled this week. Please join us again next week.

Board: The monthly Board Meeting is this Tuesday at 7:00pm.

Candy Call: Harvest Night is coming and we need candy donations. Each year we give away about 100 lbs of candy! Please place your donations in the orange tubs in the Foyer, and thank you for your continued support for this community outreach!
